About The District
Keyes Community Services District was established in 1955 as a local government agency under California Government Code Section 61000, et. seq., for the purpose of providing streetlighting to the community of Keyes, an unincorporated area of Stanislaus County. Sewer services were added in 1968. The water system was purchased from a private individual in 1971. It is governed by a Board of five locally elected directors.
Keyes Community Services District has 7 full time employees, 4 of which are in the Maintenance Department and 3 in the Administration Department. Keyes CSD has a part-time general manager by the name of Ernie Garza.
Keyes CSD has a contracted attorney, with Dennis L Hay, Esq., out of Clements. We are contracted with the engineering firm Gouveia Engineering out of Gustine.
We have approximately 5000 people in population. Our communtiy for the most part is a bedroom community. We have Ceres to the North of us and Turlock to the South of us and both are within 5 miles of us.
The City of Ceres has a WalMart, Spas, Gyms, Home Depot and various fast food places. A quantity of large chain grocery stores and gas stations.
Turlock also has a WalMart, Target, Kohl's, J.C. Pennys, Sally's Beauty Supplies, vast fast food chains and a choice of nice family dining, and a Costco. Turlock also has a Home Depot, Lowes and Orchard Hardware.
Turlock has Doctors, Dentist, Chiropractors and much more. Turlock also has Emanuel Hospital which is growing every year.
Keyes is located close to the Freeway and it is easy off and easy on access if you want to go to Turlock, Ceres, or Modesto or would like to commute to the Bay Area.
